Racquel Provost of Leyden took home NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week honors after two strong games with the Assumption University field hockey team last week.
Provost anchored a Greyhounds defense that allowed just 13 shots on goal across two contests. Assumption beat Bentley and Saint Anselm to improve to 7-1 on the season
Iconic Women Sportswriters to speak in Longmeadow
Melissa Ludtke sued Major League Baseball in 1978 and secured the right to enter locker rooms for all women sportswriters. Her 1977 and 1978 press passes are in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Melissa will speak about her book, Locker Room Talk: A Woman’s Struggle to Get Inside.
Jane McManus is a longtime ESPN reporter and panelist, a columnist for the Daily News and an educator. She has appeared on Sportscenter, Outside the Lines, and the Sports Reporters. Jane will talk about her book, The Fast Track: Inside the Surging Business of Women’s Sports.
