My fellow citizens. It is a parking lot. It is asphalt. It is ugly. Cars that need to park downtown will pay to park elsewhere downtown. No revenue will be lost. We elected a mayor who we believe loves our city and will do right by our city. Trust her to have something built that is better than that ugly asphalt parking lot. Heck, a gas station would be better than that parking lot. If it’s market rate housing, so what? We could use a few rich people here in town. Rich people trickle down money after all (don’t they?) If we can’t agree to let go of some excess ugly asphalt how will we ever make any progress in this city. Build something better. Then maybe we can start getting rid of some of the other acres and acres of asphalt pavement in our fair city. Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got, but I heartily want it gone.
