On Nov. 4, please vote “Yes” on Question 1 to rescind the city councilors’ decision to authorize the mayor to sell the Hope Street parking lot. I believe the council members should rethink their decision. There are other places which may be opening up for areas to place housing. There should be discussion as to what kind of housing we want for our city. There should be more discussion about parking needs; especially for the courthouse, DMH, ServiceNet, possibly for the Armory and maybe longer hours for parking along Hope Street where the meters are restricted to two hours. There are reasons to reconsider options. Vote “Yes” to rescind the councilors’ decision to have the mayor sell the Hope Street parking lot.
