As a tenant of 10 Fiske Ave. in Greenfield, I wish to express my appreciation for the Greenfield Police Department and especially the officers who patrol the Energy Park and the Fiske Avenue “pocket park.” In the past few years, I have noticed an increase in folks walking to and from the CleanSlate methadone clinic and congregating in the comfortable chairs outside my office window. Sometimes it gets loud, sometimes there are fights, and at least once a visitor to my office had to walk past someone vomiting on the sidewalk. Not only do I welcome the police presence, I am extending an offer of a free 15-minute acupressure session to any officer of the GPD.
