Maybe you believe democracy means a president shouldn’t have unlimited power without any checks. But you’re not someone who has gone to demonstrations. Maybe you think there needs to be full disclosure of the Epstein tapes. But you grew up thinking “you can’t fight city hall.” Maybe you are aghast that Donald Trump is withdrawing support for renewable energy projects which could save you money and the planet a healthy future. But you’re not used to being a rabble rouser. Well, save the date: Oct. 18, which is being called No Kings Day 2.0, a day when all over the country people like you will be showing up at thousands of events to say “Enough!”

And you don’t have to go very far. Come to the Greenfield Energy Park at 2 p.m. on Oct. 18, see hundreds of your friends and neighbors, and march to the Town Common for music and speakers. Or attend a similar event that day in Orange or Amherst or Northampton or Worthington or Brattleboro. You will feel energized and will be doing something you can proudly tell your parents, kids, siblings and grandchildren about. As one of my favorite signs says: “Rejecting Kings Since 1776.”
