This is in response to an accusation in a Sept. 14 letter that the Recorder is a liberal publication because they put the story about Charlie Kirk on page 7. [“Charlie Kirk assassination“].
If it will help the letter writer feel better the Recorder didn’t report the assassination of the Democratic Minnesota legislator and her husband, Melissa and Mark Hortman (and their dog). They didn’t put the attack of Speaker Pelosi’s (D) husband on the front page. Neither was the story regarding the kidnapping plot targeting Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
There are a number of incidents involving Democrats or liberals over the years which didn’t get front-page coverage. I find the newspaper prioritizes local news over national, which is their prerogative and OK with me.
