MONTAGUE — A 54-year-old Greenfield man died Saturday afternoon while boating on the Connecticut River near the French King Bridge.
A medical event appears to have preceded the boat running ashore, which occurred at around 2:30 p.m., according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
Personnel responding to the scene included the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the Crime Scenes Services Section of the Massachusetts State Police attached to the DA’s office, and the Montague and Greenfield Police departments.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was also on scene, and the case is open and remains under investigation, the DA’s office said.
