Greenfield residents have been told many times in the past that water is a limited quantity. So it comes as no surprise that the mayor asked us to take shorter showers, minimize toilet flushing, and hold off washing the car.
But I’m having trouble squaring this with the statement that Greenfield wants to build 800 new housing units. If we’re struggling to provide our current population with water and sewer service, how are we going to accommodate 800 new families that want to take showers and flush the toilet?
If we’re dealing with an inadequate supply of water now, how on earth are we going to fit 800 more families into our collective swimming pool?
