5:28 p.m. — Report of two people yelling and slamming things on 11th Street. Quiet upon police arrival. Officers spoke with both parties. Services rendered.
5:56 p.m. — Chad M. Cote, 54, of Stevens Street in Turners Falls, was arrested on Fourth Street on a warrant, as well as on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of a Class A drug.
7:00 p.m. — Report of trash dumped in the public parking lot at Third and Canal streets. Officer advised.
Wednesday, July 16
9:55 a.m. — Reporting party states that while on his way to work this morning, the ball bearing in his trailer broke. He left the trailer on the side of the road near the Water Department on Swamp Road and plans to fix it after work. Pulled off to the side, not a safety hazard.
6:10 p.m. — Tree down across Dry Hill Road. Montague Center Fire Department advises residents cleaned up the tree.
Thursday, July 17
10:06 a.m. — Caller reports a dog is scratching cars on Avenue A. Advised of options. Animal control officer has an open case regarding the issue.
Friday, July 18
6:15 p.m. — Reporting party states her purse was stolen while she was at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Avenue A and they saw it on camera, but the image was grainy. She would like a report in case there are charges on the cards. She is on her way home to cancel the ones she can remember. Will contact police for a copy of the report next week.
6:52 p.m. — Reporting party states he works at a summer camp and he dropped his AirPods. When he went back to get them, they had been stolen. He is tracking the AirPods, which are now in the area of the Shea Theater Arts Center at Avenue A and Third Street. Would like to speak to an officer. Officer called him back.
7:09 p.m. — Reporting party from Newton Street states there is a vehicle parked on her property that doesn’t belong there. She states it was parked there last night, and a male took some blankets and possibly walked down to the river. Reporting party is looking to have the vehicle removed. Services rendered.
Saturday, July 19
12:37 a.m. — Caller on Federal Street reports loose sheep in the roadway. Sheep were returned to their owner.
2:38 p.m. — Reporting party states that a black Mercedes sedan is racing around the Patch neighborhood and the vehicle has a very loud exhaust that is disturbing the peace. Vehicle was found on Migratory Way with no one inside. Next shift will go down there and watch for the vehicle. Officer spoke to the owner.
Sunday, July 20
9:34 a.m. — Reporting party states that while she was in Food City on Avenue A, someone stole her car key and debit card from the shopping cart she was using. Reporting party called back and stated the items had been located on the floor inside the store.
7:12 p.m. — Reporting party reports witnessing a hit and run. Provided plate numbers and descriptions for both vehicles. Reporting party states he attempted to tell the driver of the suspect vehicle to stop, but he continued on past the Shea Theater Arts Center toward the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge. Greenfield Police advise the vehicle is at the registered owner’s residence. Officer advised the owner is claiming his vehicle has not been driven today and was not involved. Officer is waiting for potential dashcam footage from the witness.
