10:28 a.m. — Disturbance reported at the John W. Olver Transit Center on Olive Street. Male and female parties having an animated conversation regarding “business.” Both were reminded about appropriate behavior and volume while in public, especially in cavernous buildings.
10:48 a.m. — Female party from the previous call is still causing a ruckus, back inside having a loud conversation on speakerphone. She was escorted outside where she boarded a bus to Turners Falls. Officer discussed with employees their options moving forward.
6:42 p.m. — Caller from Hayes Avenue reports his son’s black BMX bike was stolen during the night. He called back stating he located the bike at Green Fields Market. Caller stated he knew who took the bike and the male was headed toward Chapman Street. Summons was issued for the male who took the bike. Bike was recovered and returned.
8:49 p.m. — Caller from Prospect Street reports a crash with no injuries. Bicyclist was texting on his bike and crashed into a parked car, causing damage. Report issued.
Tuesday, June 24
7:05 a.m. — Report of unwanted individuals at Starbucks on the Mohawk Trail. Caller states there seems to be a homeless encampment in the grassy area behind the store by the rotary side. Caller would like them moved along. Officer out with involved parties who were sleeping in the grass next to Starbucks. They advised they would be able to pack up and move along within the hour. Reporting party was advised.
11:55 a.m. — Alarm sounding at the former Wilson’s Department Store building on Main Street. Officer states all accessible doors are intact and all glass appears intact. No signs of forced entry or individuals in or around the building.
12:43 p.m. — Reporting party on Chapman Street is extremely upset because he keeps getting parking tickets. States he puts money in the meter and then goes back to his car and the meter is at zero. Reporting party was advised, message forwarded to the parking enforcement supervisor.
7:32 p.m. — Caller states she tried to get gas at the Stop & Shop gas station on Bernardston Road and when she ran her card through, it did not give her gas but emptied all the funds in her bank account. Report issued.
Wednesday, June 25
9:46 a.m. — Caller reporting a tree service company destroyed his lawn on Scout Road while turning around. Caller is not at home but was alerted by his camera system of a large tree company truck turning around and possibly getting stuck on his lawn. Observed tire marks in the grass and two large tire markings to the side in the grass about midway up the driveway. Checked area as well as nearby roads. No tree companies found.
Thursday, June 26
7:44 a.m. — Caller believes the playground in Shattuck Park is covered in blood. Officer states it is red paint. Central Maintenance contacted.
4:08 p.m. — Male party reportedly stole beer from Ryan & Casey Liquors on Main Street. Two males on bikes, both with fishing poles, heading toward Rite Aid. Male party reportedly shoplifted at Rite Aid as well. Luis Angel Nieves Vazquez, 45, of Arch Place in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant as well as on two charges of shoplifting by asportation.
Friday, June 27
9:15 a.m. — Report of a baggie with a fentanyl test kit with Narcan and rubber gloves found on the sidewalk on Federal Street. Tapestry contacted, advised they will not be able to collect the items until after 2 p.m. Retrieved and disposed of.
6:36 p.m. — Reporting party on Wells Street reports having trapped three skunks in her basement. Skunks are now in boxes. Message left for the animal control officer.
9:48 p.m. — Reporting party states a male is trying to get into her cabin behind Stop & Shop on the French King Highway. A lot of yelling and screaming could be heard and it appeared the male made entry into the cabin. Michael G. Richotte, 59, of Greenfield, was arrested on charges of vandalizing property, intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official, and assault and battery.
Saturday, June 28
9:47 a.m. — Reporting party states a female party is screaming and cursing outside Mattress Outlet on Main Street. All quiet, party gone on arrival.
10:35 a.m. — Reporting party states a protester at Main Street and Court Square was holding up a sign with an obscene image. No obscene image. A sign read “No Dick Taters.”
9:54 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a male party who has been standing near the fence on the north side of the pool at the Mill House Apartments on Wells Street for about 15 to 20 minutes. Officer walked the premises, unable to locate.
Sunday, June 29
1:40 p.m. — Report of a hit and run near Posada on Main Street. Blue paint transfer from an unknown vehicle. Hit while parked. Report issued.
4:37 p.m. — Breaking and entering into a vehicle investigated at Elm Terrace. Vehicle showed signs of hot-wiring.
