Aug. 7: Baroque music concert

SHELBURNE — Listeners can enjoy an evening of Baroque music at the First Congregational Church of Shelburne on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Nuova Pratica, an ensemble of composer-performers from The Juilliard School’s Historical Performance program, will showcase European Baroque compositions, as well as a few of its own pieces and improvisations.

Donations will be accepted at the door to support aspiring young musicians at Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School.

Historical Society holding open house

BUCKLAND — Visitors can learn about local history during the Buckland Historical Society’s next open house on Sunday, Aug. 10.

From 1 to 4 p.m., the Historical Society Museum, which houses three floors of artifacts and town records on Upper Street, and the Wilder Homestead on Route 112 will be open to visitors.

Apex Orchards holding ‘Donuts for Dogs’ fundraiser

SHELBURNE — Apex Orchards at 154 Peckville Road will hold a “Donuts for Dogs” fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m.

The event will feature Bright Spot Therapy Dogs, vendors selling canine-themed items, Stout Pigeon Coffee Co., miniature cider doughnuts and more.
