Thank you so much for the July 28 article about the MassReconnect program.
This is the program where individuals 25 and older who have never obtained a bachelor’s degree can attend community college free of tuition. There’s great testimones to how both Greenfield Community College and Holyoke Community College are seeing increasing enrollment, of people taking advantage of this program. And your article cited a student who attended Springfield Technical Community College through this program, and is now working toward a bachelor’s in nursing.
We too often hear cynics scoff about how government never does anything right. To those doubters, I show them MassReconnect. Kudos to Gov. Maura Healey and everyone involved; I’d be hard pressed to think of a better example of how our government is making life better for others, through direct action.
As our own Sen. Jo Comerford said, “It’s heartening to see the continued positive impact of robust state investment in Massachusetts students and our campus through MassReconnect.”
Senator, I couldn’t agree more. Bravo!
