Baystate Health refuses to accept cash. According to their customer service reps, beginning in October 2023, this institution adopted a policy of no longer accepting U.S. currency for payments on co-pays, bills or even in their on-site cafeterias.
My question is, isn’t this discriminatory and possibly unlawful? This policy assumes that everyone has a credit card or checking account.
This same institution probably accepts federal and state funding.
I wonder if they will accept cash donations?
