I was delighted, and not surprised, to read in the Nov. 29 Recorder that Mayor Roxann Wedegartner is still working hard as she finishes her tenure [“City preps for leadership transition”]. I expected nothing less of her; she has taken her position seriously throughout.
Similarly, I assume that she is including Mayor-elect Virginia Desorgher in any current decision-making, planning and legal matters so the latter will be well prepared to take office on Jan. 2. This courtesy is extended to every president-elect by the outgoing U.S. president, barring, perhaps, the most recent sore loser, since the well-being of the nation, and here, the city, should be the utmost interest of both, outgoing and incoming.
Thank you, Mayor Wedegartner, for doing your best for Greenfield in these last few weeks of your time in office. Greenfield’s citizens expect nothing less and you will surely not disappoint.
