I have had the privilege of working for the town and now city of Greenfield in various roles from 2007 to 2020 and ending as the Department of Public Works deputy director. I only left that position to take a similar role much closer to home allowing me to spend more time with my family. I thankfully was able to work under and more importantly “with” Mayor Roxann Wedegartner and alongside her team. I can honestly say the leadership and management style the mayor embodies has changed the way I engaged and worked with my team(s) for the better in Greenfield and now, beyond.

Roxann treats employees like human beings, and discussions were often started with and then centered around the person’s well-being and taking into consideration all the stresses associated with family life, work life and personal health and well-being.

She was an amazing boss and made me a more thoughtful and considerate administrator and supervisor by making me and others under her add a human element to our thought processes and not just consider productivity and nothing else. Greenfield and its staff would be lucky to have her for another four years and if I was a Greenfield voter, I would check her name on the ballot on Nov. 7!
