If you want to know why Mayor Roxann Wedegartner should be re-elected, don’t listen to me. Listen directly to the candidates and ignore the spin.
Start by watching the Oct. 3 debate. It’s on GCTV’s website, and it’s a tight hour that touches on many issues important to voters. One hour. How many hours do you — do any of us — spend scrolling TikTok or other social media? Take a single hour out of your day or week to listen directly to the mayor and her opponent.

If you’re feeling especially wonky, go to the website of the Progressive Blueprint for Greenfield blueprintforgreenfield.com and read Mayor Wedegartner’s and her opponent’s answers to the questionnaire for a candidates’ forum that didn’t ultimately include the mayoral candidates. However, you can see their answers, side by side on a Google sheet. As an extra bonus: Watch Dave Madsen’s “Getting Answers” show on WWLP-TV that aired Sunday, Oct. 22 during which Wedegartner was a guest on the show.
Instead of arguing into the void on social media, go straight to the source – in less time than most of us spend dissociating or hurting our own feelings on Facebook, you can be an informed voter when choosing to re-elect Mayor Wedegartner on Nov. 7. And you’ll see why she has my vote.
