The MIAA state boys and girls soccer brackets were revealed on Wednesday. 

The Frontier boys are the eighth-seeded team in the Division 4 field. The Redhawks (17-2) will host the winner of No. 25 Tyngsborough (4-10-4) and No. 40 Falmouth Academy (8-6-3) in the Round of 32 at a date and time to be determined.

In the Div. 5 boys field, Mahar (12-4) received the No. 16 seed and a bye to the Round of 32. The Sens will host the winner of No. 17 Ware (16-0-2) and No. 48 Pioneer (10-7-1) — the Panthers also got into the field via a winning record.

Athol (14-4) is the No. 29 seed and will host No. 36 Charlestown (8-3-2) in the prelims on Friday at 5 p.m. Turners (6-4-1) and Greenfield (11-6-1) will be on the road for their prelim games, the Thunder seeded No. 43 and taking on No. 22 KIPP Academy Lynn (8-6-3) while the Green Wave are seeded No. 45 and will head out to face No. 20 Salem Academy (8-8). 

Three Recorder area teams qualified for the Div. 5 girls soccer field. 

Franklin Tech (10-5-3) comes in at No. 32 seed and will host No. 33 Upper Cape Cod RVT (10-5-2) in the prelims. Athol (12-3-3), seeded No. 34, will head to Northampton to face No. 31 Smith Vocational (11-3-2) in the prelims while Pioneer (7-7-1) is seeded No. 38 and will go on the road to take on No. 27 Westport (12-5-1) in the prelims.

The preliminary rounds are expected to begin play on Friday, though most game times and dates weren’t available at press time.

Girls soccer

Eagle Hill 3, Four Rivers 2 (PKs) — Trailing 2-0 in the final 10 minutes, Stella Langlands tallied twice Tuesday for the Otters to send the game to overtime. 

Following two scoreless overtime periods the game went to penalty kicks, where Eagle Hill won it in the eighth round to advance to the River Valley Athletic League championship game with a 6-5 win in penalty kicks.
