I am proud to say I am an Army brat who chose service to children as my life path. I was raised to believe in community, service, honor and integrity. My parents, Tom and Carol Goodwin, chose to settle in Greenfield over 30 years ago. My dad retired from the Army after 20 years and community was everything to him. As a principal in Greenfield, I have met some amazing people who quietly serve the community and many who just want to know how they can help. Today I ask for your help as an educator and neighbor. Vote for Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher for mayor.
I first met Ginny as I went outside to find out who was walking around the Newton playground after school. Ginny had come to see what Newton had requested in the capital planning budget. She cared and wanted to help. Ginny has integrity which is wrapped in the strength of kindness, caring and empathy. She asks questions to understand and uses her knowledge to make decisions for the community. I have been an educator for 40 years and an administrator for 27 years. The schools and their principals need to be heard and supported to make our schools what they can be.
I like many other people turned on the news one day to see and hear our police chief and mayor tell a reporter we wouldn’t have 24-hour local police coverage. I felt betrayed as a taxpayer and wanted answers. What I heard was a total lack of leadership and accountability. Safety is and should always be a priority in every community.
Please join me as I vote for Ginny Desorgher.
