
On the road against the top-seeded team in the Western Mass. Class C field, the Mahar boys soccer team was unable to spring the upset on Friday.
No. 1 Ware received two goals apiece from Jack McKeever and Joruan Mukiibi, and held the fifth-seeded Senators off the board in a 5-0 semifinal round victory.
Ware (16-0-2) will play either Mount Greylock or McCann Tech in the Class C title game.
Tristan Gaj made six saves in net for Mahar (12-4), and Coltin Fausett stopped three shots for the visitors.
The Sens now await their state tournament seeding and matchup next week.
Franklin Tech 4, Commerce 2 — Mason Thurston buried three goals, and the Eagles rallied from a 1-0 deficit to snag a non-playoff win on Friday.
Sorin Marin also tallied for Franklin Tech, which led 3-1 at halftime after falling behind early. Jack Gancarz assisted on two goals while Jaxon Kotright also had a helper.
Greenfield 3, Easthampton 2 — The Green Wave capped their regular season with an 11-6-1 record after Friday’s 3-2 non-playoff victory.
Greenfield now awaits its seed and opponent for the Division 5 state tournament.
Jack Laurie tallied in the second minute for the Wave, while Caleb Thomas and Clivens Carter Michel also scored goals in the win. William Pierre, Thomas and Carter Michel all notched assists, and goalie Liam Grahame-Lawson made six saves.

Non-playoff games
Frontier 2, Central 0 — The Redhawks capped their season with a 2-0 victory on Friday.
Maddie Fagan and Skyler Steele scored first-half goals for Frontier (8-9-1), which missed qualifying for the state tournament by one point. Maddie Bennett and Jillian Worden added assists, and Jocelyn Antes stopped all six shots she faced to pick up the team’s third shutout of the season.
Smith Voc 3, Mahar 0 — Goalies Alivia Patch (seven) and Avery Savage (one) combined for eight saves for the Senators in a non-playoff loss on Friday.
Non-playoff matches
Pioneer 3, Renaissance 0 — Kayla Gauthier went for three kills, six digs and three aces as the Panthers won an important regular season finale match that they hope will vault them into the MIAA Division 5 state tournament.
Pioneer (6-12) was No. 32 in the most recent power rankings, and will need to avoid dropping below that threshold in order to punch a state tourney ticket.
Avery Johnson (nine digs, two kills), Emma Strong (four aces, nine digs), Abbie Ray (eight digs, two kills) and Erin Killay (six aces, 13 digs) were all key cogs in the Pioneer attack on Friday.
