Ginny DeSorgher has been my precinct councilor these past four years and she has done an outstanding job. She does her homework and has always been prepared and knowledgeable about all the issues that come before the council. I was delighted when I learned she decided to run for mayor. She listens to people’s concerns and is accessible and responsive to her constituents. She was very helpful when I needed some assistance in how to proceed with an issue and her fiscal expertise is a valuable asset that will help her shape the direction of Greenfield’s future.

Ginny has a vision for Greenfield that is inclusive and encompasses several areas of concern. The vitality and prosperity of our community is key and she will focus on sound investments and attention to those things that matter most.

As has been mentioned, funding our schools and paying teachers and staff a living wage is a top priority.

She hopes to create a more fiscally strong community by adjusting our tax structure and assessment values of properties while working in cooperation with the City Council.

Ginny plans to work closely with business owners and to attract more commercial and industrial businesses to foster economic vitality.

Public safety and health is another area Ginny is prioritizing including instituting a zero tolerance policy regarding racism, and supporting the Board of Health to carry out its responsibilities.

Ginny wants to create more housing, especially affordable options for diverse income levels, and for an increasing elder population.

She is also concerned as are many of us about being prepared for extreme weather events and improving our public infrastructure. And she wants to make Greenfield more resilient to climate change by protecting natural resources including creating green spaces in developed areas and planting more trees

I believe Ginny has the experience, expertise and integrity to serve as our next mayor. If you feel as I do that it is time for a change in leadership, please consider voting for DeSorgher on Nov. 7.
