After having received an e-mail from state Senator Jo Comerford, with the title when government works, I was compelled to reply with this perspective. Our government does not work, any time you have a veto proof majority or in some cases a supermajority with no checks and balances the system cannot work. Florida and Texas, to cite a few states are a prime example of what I believe is dysfunctional government, and Massachusetts is no different except for the fact that we are a liberal state as opposed to being conservative. Even filing a lawsuit, basically our only relief, is an uphill battle. Will it ever change? I hope so, but sadly I suspect it will not happen in my lifetime.
