While driving on Franklin County roads in Massachusetts, we may have forgotten a basic rule about traffic. The more vehicles that we let off the road, the easier it is to drive with fewer cars! Why not try to allow people to exit our highways?
I am told that left turners block intersections. This ties up traffic. If we let them leave the road, would that help? Me, I don’t have to be first anymore, or even second; I just want to get there. Perhaps we sometimes forget that the road is our travel-way, and not our own highway. Maybe we might consider sharing. It would help a lot. Others of good will might consider stopping at stop signs.
