CHARLEMONT — Zoar Outdoor will host Pride Day on the River on Saturday, June 10, starting at 9 a.m.
The fifth annual event celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month with groups rafting and kayaking down the Fife Brook section of the Deerfield River. Both new and experienced participants can spend the day paddling on the river and then recharge with an after-party at Zoar Outdoor, where there will be free food, non-alcoholic beverages, whitewater gear and other giveaways.
The day starts at 9 a.m. with an Intro to Whitewater Clinic, for which registration is required. At 11 a.m., those participating in the community paddle will meet at the Zoar Picnic Area. Participants are required to wear a life vest and helmet when in boats or in the water. The after-party will follow at Zoar Outdoor from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
