Many thanks to Ray Godin for his recent column, “Elect, don’t appoint” [Recorder, May 12]. It was thoughtful and well-reasoned, and expressed with his usual directness. I agree with him. I would only add that no system is perfect, and that is a reason not to concentrate power any more than is absolutely necessary. Separation of powers is important; let’s keep it in Montague.
