Language affects how we interpret people and events. Allowing people like Donald Trump or Marjorie Greene, Greg Abbot, even Lindsey Graham to lay claim to being conservative is to dishonor the concept of conservatism. They and their supporters are disruptive authoritarians. Call them what they are, but not conservatives.
And, in keeping with wrapping appropriate language around events, we should begin referring to mass shootings as what they are, Supreme Court murders, killings resulting from the court’s interpretation of the Second Amendment. Any death directly caused by an AR-15 type of gun is a Supreme Court murder. It’s long past time for the press to call them what they are.
