It may not have been the shot heard around the world, however during his live Netflix stand-up comedy special, “Selective outrage” Chris Rock announced, “I’m not a victim.” This is refreshing, especially when many are demanding to be protected from everything, including words. We have safe spaces, trigger warnings and people hoping to benefit in some way from their victim status. For those who are unaware, in 2022, Rock was slapped in the face by Will Smith on live television. During the show he also went after, cancel culture and “woke” pretty heavily, and he’s not the only one. Americans have had enough of this cultural warfare.
