For the seventh year, local DJ and radio personality Robert “Bobby C” Campbell is holding his Franklin County TRIAD Hams for Seniors charity collection, with a donation deadline of March 20.

Once a Christmastime charity, the now Easter-oriented act of kindness entails a goal of distributing 400 hams in time for the holiday. Campbell is requesting donations of $35 per ham, each to be served with potatoes and carrots.

“This year, we thought we would have the fixings, too, to be able to make it a little more appealing for our seniors,” Campbell said.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD team will give the hams to seven of the county’s senior centers during a distribution day held at the Franklin County Jail and House of Correction the week before Easter. The senior centers will in turn distribute the meals to seniors in need.

Those who wish to donate may do so by sending a check to Bobby Campbell at 303 Fairway Ave., Turners Falls, MA 01376 with “F.C. TRIAD Hams for Seniors 2023” written in the memo section. Donations can also be made via Venmo at @BobbyCCampbell.

“If it wasn’t for the community, we couldn’t do it,” Campbell said. “This whole thing relies on the community.”
