I read with enthusiasm the story in your paper about the positive development of plans for an Aldi grocery store at the old Candlelight Motor Inn site. I haven’t always supported new retail stores coming into Greenfield, but this one makes a lot of sense for the city and for shoppers in the region. Aldi’s has a market mission to provide good food at affordable prices. In fact, we occasionally drive to Brattleboro to shop at the Aldi’s there — their prices are low enough to make the time and expense of the trip worth it. I hope the developers continue to work with Conservation and Planning Boards to get this store built.
