I read of Ellen Boyer‘s upcoming retirement as the director of the Greenfield Public Library with mixed emotions [“Turning the page at library,” Recorder, Feb. 24]. Of course I wish her well as she begins the next well-deserved chapter of her life. However, she will be sorely missed. The new library that she has shepherded is a stunning achievement and will always be a testament to her dedication, leadership and perseverance through the long, arduous process of grant application, multiple meetings with various agencies and organizations, fundraising, etc. We are very fortunate to have had such a wonderful director who has brought our library into the 21st century.
