Two ‘Happy Feet’ walks planned in November

NORTHFIELD — The “Happy Feet” walking group will hold two walks this month.

On Monday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m., walkers are invited to meet at FirstLight Hydro Generating Co.’s Riverside picnic area and pavilion on Route 63. Participants will walk along Pine Meadow Road, under the French King Bridge to Cabot Camp, and back. The walk, which is roughly 4 miles roundtrip, has some uneven surfaces as the road is partially dirt. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

On Monday, Nov. 28, at 10:45 a.m., walkers can meet at the Senior Center for an intergenerational activity with Northfield Elementary School’s kindergarten class. Participants will walk up Main Street to the school, meet the students and return with them to the Senior Center for an activity and snacks. Seniors with a walker or wheelchair are encouraged to attend.

In the event of steady rain, sleet or ice, the Happy Feet walks will be canceled.
