Public Safety Field Day coming to GCC

GREENFIELD — The Tri-State Fire Mutual Aid Association is hosting a Public Safety Field Day on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greenfield Community College.

According to a notice from Montague Center Fire Chief Dave Hansen, fire, police, EMS and emergency management vehicles, as well as LIFE STAR and State Police helicopters, will be on display. The event will be held rain or shine.

“Come meet your emergency responders and see the vehicles and equipment they use up close,” Hansen advises.

LifePath rep to share info on health education workshops

GREENFIELD — Andi Waisman, of LifePath’s Healthy Living Department, will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Monday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. to offer information and answer questions about the Greenfield-based nonprofit’s free health education workshops.

LifePath’s workshops provide individuals of any age who are living with chronic health conditions, as well as their caregivers and family members, with the information, skills and support they need to take charge of their health.

Suicide Loss Support Group now meets first Tuesday of each month

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Suicide Loss Support Group now meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Mental Health Association at Mohawk Mall. The offices are on the first floor at 91 Main St.

The peer-led group is free to join and open to anyone 18 years or older who has lost a loved one to suicide. Registration is not necessary but anyone with questions can contact Jennifer Matoney, who co-founded the group in 2018 with facilitator Donn Brooks, by email at afspjen@gmail.com.

Matoney advises support group attendees to park in the large side lot.
