I am disappointed that the Recorder chose to publish Jasper Lapienski’s misogynistic and body shaming attack on Greenfield City Councilor Marianne Bullock on Aug. 11.  I know that the Recorder does not print every letter to the editor it receives.  It is hard to believe that this personal attack on a public figure, for something as ridiculous as what they chose to wear while modeling for an art project, was something that the editorial staff found worthy of publishing.  It is 2022, people of all genders should be able to wear whatever they want without fear of public criticism or harassment.  It’s truly disappointing that the Recorder did not push back against this outdated, oppressive viewpoint by simply choosing not to publish this letter.  I hope the Recorder issues an apology to Councilor Bullock.
