I wanted to say thank you for publishing first the notice, and then the front-page story in the Recorder, about the wonderful welcome and support that the people of Ashfield are providing to the Ahmadi family. I’ve spent summers in Northfield for my entire life and the region feels like home to me.
I’m managing a large group of lawyers at a large law firm, helping many Afghan families who are seeking pathways to safe resettlement. We have been doing this for the past 18 months, and each case is extremely complicated and difficult. The Ahmadis are lucky people to have so many people who want to help; we see so many more families without this support, stuck in Afghanistan without any certainty that they will be able to have a chance to leave.
