Aidan Valderrama and Chanhee Son each netted a pair of goals to help the Frontier boys score a 6-0 victory over Belchertown B in a Pioneer Valley Summer Soccer League contest on Tuesday night in Belchertown.

John Santiago and Fernando Saravia also tallied for Frontier, while Son and Brady Burch dished out assists. Goalie Niko Lorantos made five saves to pitch the shutout.

Baseball

Post 81 Seniors

A big pitching performance got Greenfield Post 81 back in the win column on Monday. 

Hugh Cyhowski tossed a gem for Greenfield, going six and one-third innings, striking out 10 and allowing just three hits to lead Post 81 to a 9-3 victory over Wilbraham Post 286 at Vets Field. 

Cyhowski helped himself with a hit and an RBI at the plate. Tyler Dubreuil cracked a pair of doubles and a single to drive in two runs, David Carey knocked a triple, a single and brought in a pair of runs and Ben Martino hit a triple and a double in the win. Dylan Martin had a strong game defensively behind the plate. 

Post 81 Juniors

Jackson Petrin threw a gem, and the Greenfield Post 81 Junior Division baseball team picked up a tidy 2-1 victory over Wilbraham on Monday night at Spec Pond in Wilbraham.

Petrin tossed 6 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing just a single unearned run to snag the victory for Post 81.

At the plate, Greenfield scored both of its runs in the top of the sixth inning. Ethan Mauthe came across on a put out while Jackson Campbell plated the game-winning run on a passed ball.

Post 81’s Jake Lavin, Trevor Kuchieski and Petrin had singles in the win. The defense made just one error behind Petrin to help Greenfield improve to 3-4 on the season.

9U All Stars

The Hamshaw Lumber Greenfield 9U All Stars went 2-3 over the weekend to earn a third place finish at the Swanzey (N.H.) Invitational. 

Greenfield scored four runs in the sixth against Hollis-Brookline in the semifinals on Monday to force extra innings, but ultimately fell 9-8. 

Phillip Brodeur had a strong game on the mound and added a hit at the plate. Kaydin Snow-Rose reached and scored a run, Jackson Baker hit a double and Brock Puchalski reached twice in the loss. 

On Saturday, Hollis-Brookline earned a 25-7 win over Greenfield. Collin Winslow hit safely, Sean Winslow knocked a pair of hits and Puchalski reached twice. 

In its first game on Sunday, Maddox Sherman had a pair of hits, Jackson Puchalski launched a triple, Jackson Baker had two hits including a double and Snow-Rose hit a double to lift Greenfield past Hadley, 15-12. 

Also on Sunday, Maddox Sherman and Elias Tripp each had a base hit in Greenfield’s 16-0 loss to Hollis. 

Basketball

Franklin Tech Summer League

Amber Bergeron scored 14 points and Azemina Cecunjanin followed with 13 to lead Greenfield past Mahar, 35-25, in a Franklin Tech Summer League girls basketball contest on Tuesday in Turners Falls.

Anna Bucala added four points in the win for Greenfield. Scorers were Mahar were Hayden Comeau (8 points), Astha Bernard (6), Kendrah Doane (4), Nevaeh Scribner (3), Thea Whitmore (2) and Sophia Woods (2).

Elsewhere, Frontier defeated Athol 47-22 thanks to a game-high 18 points from Kylie Laford.

Delaney “Lu” FIeld scored 10 points, Jazzy Hayes added 8 points, Hailey Hutkowski scored 6 points, Kali Berthiaume scored 2 points, and Katie Wells chipped in with one point.

For Athol, Emma Bacigalupo scored 9 points, Lizzy Mailloux, Anna Duquette, and Ally Robertson each had 3 points, and Lilly Rathburn and Abby Spooner both scored 2 points.

In other action, Franklin Tech defeated Pioneer 26-17 thanks to a game-high 15 points from Kendra Campbell.

Other Franklin Tech scorers were Lea Chapman (6), Haleigh Benoit (4) and Kaitlin Trudeau (1).

Pioneer’s Fota Ndiaye led the way with 6 points. Other contributors were Hailey Ring (4), Addison Harrington (3), Leah Potter (2) and Caroline Ring (2).

Drive League

Max Millette tallied eight points while Matt Sicard added six points to lift Frontier past Athol, 48-39, on Monday in a boys varsity contest at Greenfield High School. 

Colby Goodwin and Logan Cormier each scored 10 points in the loss for the Bears. 

■ Riley Intrator dropped 26 points and Griffin Smiarowski tacked on 23 points to lead Hatfield to a 71-52 triumph over Franklin Tech on Monday. 

Josiah Little and Noah Ausikaitis each had 14 points in the losing effort. 

■ Branden Truesdell’s 11 points helped propel Turners to a 53-44 win over Hinsdale on Monday. Brayden Eastman led the way with 14 points in the loss. 

Softball

FCL

Riley Giard got the win tossing the first three innings before Ryanne Dubay came on to pitch four shutout innings in relief to lead the Wolfpack to a 13-3 win over the Magic on Monday. 

Josie Dubay had a pair of hits and RBIs and Addie Loomis knocked a single, a double and two RBIs in the victory. Anna Bucala, Addison Rotkiewicz and Gloria McDonald each had a pair of hits for the Magic, with McDonald striking out seven in the circle. 

■ Haley Routhier, Audrianna Bassett and Karli Carmody each had a hit to lead the Bombers to a 10-8 victory over Havoc on Monday. 

Rachel Wood struck out seven before Summer Routhier came on to strike out two batters in the win. 

Janell Massey, Alyssa Peters, Janelis Camocho and Cassie Dion each had a hit for the Havoc. Dion struck out seven while Grace Laurie had three strikeouts in the loss.

Golf

Edge Hill Men’s League

Ronnie Parker’s plus-4 point quota topped the A Division at Tuesday’s Edge Hill Men’s League.

Mark Graves was next at plus-2. Dave Cote shot 38 for low gross honors, and CW Leach had the low net (32).

In the B Division, Bill Buck shot 35 for low gross honors and posted a winning plus-5 quota. Skip Heddens was second at plus-3, and Paul Hill had the low net (31).

Bill Green was closest to the pin on No. 10 (8-8) and Bret Bourman was closest at No. 16 (13-9).

CCG Women’s League

Teresa Varner shot the low gross of 86, followed by Diane Carme with an 87, in Flight One of the 18 Hole Women’s League at the Country Club of Greenfield on Tuesday. 

Michele Hazlett finished with the low net of 70, followed by Janet Small with a 71. 

Irene Woods shot the low gross of 96 in Flight Two. Anne Lyman took second (106). Alane Smith finished with the low net (72) while Irene McDonald took second (75). 

■ In a par three and four only contest in the Women’s 9 Hole League at CCG on Monday, Elaine Goodhind and Ann McHugh tied for the low score of 35 in the Patty Berg Flight. 

TC Emerson (44) took the Nancy Lopez Flight, Irene McDonald (43) won the Lorena Ochoa Flight, Karen Duclos (48) came in first in the JoAnne Carner Flight and Emily Jarvis (49) took the Annika Sörenstam Flight.

Thomas Memorial

Matt Vandale finished with the low gross of 37 while Billy Kimball shot the low net of 27 in Matt’s Men’s League at Thomas Memorial in Week 7 of the league. 

In closest to the pin, Charlie Peters won on No. 7 (10 feet, 10 inches) while Ken Adams took it on No. 9 (23-0). Paul Gaspar and Jon Hall each finished with five points on the week, the most in the league. 

Peters, Matt Betsold, Jeff  Miller, Vandale, Bob Samson and Ken Adams each won skins. 

Adult softball

Greenfield Co-ed League

David Matson knocked four dou bles and six RBIs while Brian Ginnity, Eric Boliski and Chris Arsenault each had a pair of hits to lead The Tavern to a 16-15 win over the Liberty Tax Sharks on Tuesday. 

Liberty’s Mike Cole tallied three hits, Bob Badillo had two hits and three RBIs and Abbie O’Connor had two hits in the loss.
