Mayor: I cannot truly relate to you in civil terms how completely disappointed I and many others have been at your inaction over racial discrimination from the top down in the Greenfield Police Department. The least you could have done was to fire those found guilty of discrimination. Those two salaries alone would have accounted for almost $350,000. That is more than 50% of what the council voted to take away from the GPD budget. A percentage not out of line with cuts made to other departments. The overwhelming majority of contact I have had from the citizens of Greenfield has been to correct discrimination at the police department ASAP by firing those two guilty parties and to hire an independent group of Greenfield residents to institute new guidelines for the GPD.
Because of your inaction, you and the acting police chief have been throwing the council under the bus. If you find yourself incapable of fulfilling your duties then you should resign.
