SUNDERLAND — Saturday, June 25, is the 65th anniversary of the organization of the United Church of Christ. The Sunderland Congregational Church was founded 305 years ago, but the UCC emerged from the union of several church denominations in 1957. We are both one of the oldest and newest churches in America.
Our worship service on Sunday, June 26, will begin at 11 a.m. In the UCC, this is ONA Sunday, where ONA stands for Open and Affirming. This is our first ONA Sunday as an official ONA congregation. This is how we are able to say with no if’s and’s or but’s that “Whoever you are you are welcome here.”
If you would like to join us online, please send an email to randyc1897@gmail.com.
GREENFIELD — Join us in worship and for our Mutual Ministry Team Member’s reflection on “Scuttle (from Little Mermaid) Was Wrong and So Are the Romans.” What are some different viewpoints of what can happen in our life, and how is God with us? Service is Sunday, June 26, at 10 a.m. First United Methodist Church, 25 Church St., Greenfield.

GREENFIELD — The Rev. Heather J. Blair, rector, said: “You are invited to join the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew on the last Sunday of every month for this new initiative, which we see as one small step in responding to the public health crisis of gun violence. On the last Sunday of the month, our worship will begin at 10 a.m. with the clergy sharing the number of people who have died from gun violence in the last month. The congregation will then remember, grieve and pray as the church bell is rung in remembrance of all who have died. Our data is collected from the Gun Violence Archive. We invite other congregations to join in this initiative, and ring your bells with us.”
GREENFIELD — You are invited to the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew, 8 Church St., for the next installment in its monthly teaching sermon series. This month’s topic will be confession and healing. If you are curious about the ritual of confession or laying on of hands, please join us on Sunday, June 26, at 10 a.m.
