Memories. Isn’t it wonderful that we all have them? All of my stories in this column are all based on my memory. No research was ever done.
When I graduated from Greenfield High School in 1945 we had a very large class. There was a committee formed to plan for its reunions. All were held every five years. Different locations were used for dinner, dancing and conversations. I still have photos of most all of them with all of us in them.
For our 50th reunion, they chose Bricker’s on the Mohawk Trail in Greenfield. The building that was used was once the home of a business called Turnbull’s that made their own ice cream. That building is no longer here. It is now the Hampton Inn,
At that reunion, a 15-piece big band orchestra was hired to play for all of us. That was one of our best and everyone dressed up for that one.
I personally think that reunions are nice to go to and to get up-to-date news from those there. In my case, they were done up to the 70th year one and now there are no more.
I sincerely hope that this tradition will continue forever. They are all worth keeping, and they will be part of your memory and past.
