I don’t have the answer to the Texas shooting. But I think the Recorder and all other papers should post the Second Amendment on the front page, use the whole page and I would ask everyone to go to your computer or iPad or phone and just type into your browser gun laws for any given state and I think you will be shocked.
There is no common ground between states. That to me is crazy because we are the United States of America. I’m watching the news and they want to blame a teacher for going out to get her phone, they want to blame the police department for not getting in fast enough. To me, I say the blame lands on all of us because we’re the ones electing all these congressman and if this one incident isn’t enough to make all 50 states have the same laws pertaining to the Second Amendment then nothing will change and the next disaster is just around the corner.
I have no problem with having the right to bear arms but this kid had, what a thousand rounds of ammo, and a machine gun style weapon. So let’s get real people and get our legislators to do what’s right or vote them out. The next step is — I’m sorry regulating the internet cause it sounds like this shooter was a gamer and on the internet but no one reported his intentions — they should be held liable, too. So to me we can all own weapons but let’s have some reasonable laws. I mean reasonable, you don’t hunt deer or bear with a machine gun and if you really need to own a WWII machine gun then you need to be a registered person federally, not at the state level.
I’m sure no one will have a problem with that. So contact your newspapers and congressman and finally get something passed federally.
