Trailing 7-2 in the fourth inning, the Mohawk Trail baseball team sprung to life on Tuesday.

The Warriors scored three times in the fourth and followed that with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning en route to an impressive 9-8 victory over Pathfinder in an independent baseball game in Buckland.

Hunter Donahue and Owen Lake had two hits apiece for Mohawk Trail, while Deven Buchanan reached base three times and drove in a run. Donahue reached base all four plate trips, while Logan Moore singled and scored two runs. Carter Miller also touched home twice in the win, and Weston Den Ouden added a single.

Moore picked up the win after tossing 6 2/3 innings, while Miller nabbed the save after getting the final out of the ballgame.

It was the first win of the season the Warriors.

Mahar 12, Hoosac Valley 2 – Cole Johnson tossed a gem, and the Senators rolled to a six-inning mercy rule victory on Tuesday in Cheshire.

Johnson struck out seven and walked just one in a complete-game effort on the mound, and then added three hits, including a pair of doubles, to go with four RBIs at the plate.

Liam O’Donnell has two hits and two RBIs in the victory.

Will Barnes, Nate Danielson and Dominic Cacciolfi all hit safely for the Sens.

Softball

Mohawk Trail 6, Chicopee Comp 5 – It was a clean sweep for the Warriors, as the softball team also captured a tight, one-run game on Tuesday.

Mya Lesieur came through with a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning, plating Addie Loomis to give Mohawk Trail a victory in Buckland.

Loomis doubled and tripled in the win, while Sophie Guy had a pair of singles and Adrian Grant also had a hit for the hosts.

Riley Giard tossed a complete game for Mohawk Trail, striking out 10 batters across seven innings. Giard struck out the side in both the second and fifth innings to guide the Warriors.

Youth baseball

Nico Siano had three hits, including two doubles, Caleb Dillensneider had two hits, including a double and a triple, and Bodie Burke added two singles to propel Maniatty Real Estate past Gilmore & Farrell, 9-7, on Tuesday at Lunt Field.

Maniatty’s Carter Gerry and Dillensneider each pitched three innings to combine for the win.

Gilmore & Farrell’s Chase Zraunig had three hits, including two doubles and a triple, and Ethan Hannon doubled. Cody Yetter paced the defensive effort behind the plate, and Zraunig had a strong night on the mound.

Gruber & Tripp 12, Gagne Wealth Management 11 (Tuesday)

Gruber & Tripp: William Simanski, Asher Tripp and EJ Morley all scored runs.

Gagne: Liam McDonough and Parker Smith each had hits.

Kaline Pease, Ayva Quiles-Call and Leah Batiste all went 4-for-4, and Taylor Adams went 3-for-4 to help Emblem Club notch a 15-5 win over Pristine Orientals on Tuesday at Murphy Park.

Hailey Sadler had four hits and Emmy Perez added three hits to power Pristine.

Greenfield Elks 19, Gilmore & Farrell 3 (Tuesday)

Elks: Lindsey Hawkins, Kinsley Bergeron, and Aurora Reynolds all went 5-for-5, Rian Farrell went 5-for-5 with three doubles.

Gilmore & Farrell: Layla Bailey (hit, RBI), Elise LaPrade (2 hits), Charley Deane (2 hits, RBI).

Adult softball

Greenfield co-ed

A Dom Carme grand slam propelled the Liberty Tax Sharks to a 13-5 victory over Smitty’s Pub in a Greenfield Adult Co-ed Softball League contest on Tuesday night.

Carme also smacked another home run and finished with six RBIs for the Sharks, which received two hits and two RBIs apiece from Riley Watroba and Jeff Gibson.

Smitty’s Kyle Dodge had two hits, including a double, while Jenna Putala (two hits, triple, RBI) and Cassy Jouannet (two hits) were other offensive standouts.

Golf

 CCG Tuesday Women’s League

Terry Boyce topped the field at the Country Club of Greenfield’s Tuesda y 18-Hole Women’s League, posting a low gross of 77 to win Flight One.

Teresa Varner was second with a 79.

Irene Woods won Flight Two with a 99, just ahead of Wendy Blanchard (102).

Michele Hazlett had the low net in Flight One (64), followed by Susan O’Connor (65). In Flight Two, Alane Smith (65)  and Donna Mowry (69) had the low net scores.
