I write in support of Tim Hilchey for Selectboard in Deerfield.
Tim has been the chairman of the Community Preservation Committee throughout my tenure. As chairman, he has been both a strong guide and an open leader. He works with the state people to ensure we are in compliance as we navigate tricky questions, while inviting committee members and the public to participate in civilized debate.
Tim’s work in the Connecting Community Initiative ranges from meeting with restoration experts to save the Grammar School and repurpose the Congregational Church, to walking the landscape with a hydrologist to ensure environmentally sound development.
In all my experiences working with Tim, he is thoughtful, open-minded, and invests a lot of time in understanding issues from the legal, scientific, and community perspectives.
I urge my fellow townsfolk to join me in voting for Tim Hilchey for Selectboard on Monday, May 2.
