I am writing in response to the student walkout at Mohawk Trail Regional School. When I heard the news about Texas and Florida limiting the rights and liberties of LGBTQ individuals and their families, I was outraged. Then, when I read about the student walkout in support of the LGBTQ community, I was uplifted and inspired. Rylee Hager and Emery King are brave young leaders. As the students of Mohawk followed King and Hager in the walkout, may we, as well, follow them to stand up for human rights across our nation and the world.
