Greenfield’s Evan Tsipenyuk had a big game on the mound on Friday in the U12 Cal Ripken District 2 Tournament against Mohawk Trail.
Tsipenyuk allowed just three hits while Greenfield put runs on the board in the first, second, fourth and sixth inning to pull away with a 6-2 victory.
Aden Shea smacked a double for Greenfield while Tsipenyuk, Caleb Dillensneider, Ethan Fisher, Rowan Muzzy and George Gutierrez hit safely in the win. Hunter Donahue and Fisher had RBIs.
Grayson Bishop, Jazzy Hayes and Mason Bassett all had hits for Mohawk Trail.

Conner Bergeron hit a single and two doubles, Christian Powell doubled for his first career hit and Parker Gerry had a big single late to help Denny’s Pantry force a 7-7 tie with Smitty’s Pub in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball Triple A game on Friday.
Ethan Facey singled and doubled, Brendon Clough hit a triple, Casey Burke doubled and Nolan Kalinowski had a hit for Smitty’s.
Frotier youth
Ronnie Bagdon smashed a double while Leland Murphy came up with a clutch RBI single and Adam Pual and Patrick Beeltje each hit safely twice to help lead Delta Sand and Gravel to a 19-6 win over Wilcox Builders in a Frontier Majors contest on Thursday.
Oscar Higuera drilled a home run and Kolton Punska recorded a single and a double for Wilcox.

Gracie Lee-Goldstein recorded four hits, Adie Abercrombie had a pair of hits and Azariah Stebbins hit safely and drove in a run as Gilmore and Farrell squeaked out a 4-3 win over Elk’s Club in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Lil Nippers game on Thursday.
Lexi Hawkins had four hits, Kayla Cormie had a hit and a pair of RBIs while Amelie Gauthier had a pair of hits for Elk’s Club.
■ In Ponytail Division action on Thursday, Addison Talbot hit a double while Autumn Thornton, Grace Laurie, Avery Savage, Sarah McCloud and Taylor Underwood hit safely to help lead Pipione’s Sport Shop to an 11-8 win over Descavich Plumbing.
Gloria MacDonald had a home run, a single and four RBIs for Descavich, with Cobi Tyminski recording three hits and two RBIs and Addy Moffatt and Bailey Cusson hitting safely.
Four Rivers’ Henry Zwart played well offensively while Ben Yu dished six assists but it was Amherst who pulled out a 15-9 win over the Otters on Friday.
Both teams combined for one turnover in the first half.
