Registration for Franklin County Youth Football and Franklin County Youth Cheer is underway. 

For football, athletes can register for the Peewee Division (grades 3-4), Junior Division (grades 5-6) and senior division (grades 7-8). For cheer, athletes can register for Peewee Cheer (grades K-2), Junior Cheer (grades 3-5) and Senior Cheer (grades 6-8).

CCG Youth Camp

The Country Club of Greenfield is taking registration for their youth golf camp, which will take place June 28 through July 1 from 9 a.m. until noon. 

The camp will be led by CCG PGA Professional Kevin Piecuch with assistant golf professional with Greenfield High School golf coach Josh Cook one of the lead instructors. 

The most current COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, with the camp open to kids grades K-5. The camp will be capped at 25 kids on a first come, first serve basis, with the cost being $150 for the first family member and $125 for each additional family member.

Crumpin-Fox

Alex McCallum and Steve Larson had the top gross score of 66 at the Crumpin-Fox Club Senior Open Two Ball Tournament on Wednesday. 

Al Griffin and Gary Mattesen finished with the top net score of 62. 

Erik Barnes won skins on Hole No. 5 with an eagle while David Laravee won it on No. 18 with a birdie. 

Thomas Memorial

Todd Currie took first place with a score of 12 in a stableford scoring contest in the Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial on Wednesday. 

Rod Herzig won closest to the pin on No. 7 (seven feet, seven inches) and Steve Call was the winner on No. 9 (10 feet). 

Darren Lenois, Mike Morin and Bob Bourbeau each won skins. 

Youth baseball

GMLB

Carter Gerry and Conner Bergeron combined to strike out 15 to lead Denny’s Pantry to a 12-2 win over Rotary Club in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball Triple A contest on Wednesday. 

Bergeron hit a home run and drove in four runs while Tevaariss Hall hit a triple and Parker Gerry had his first hit of the season for Denny’s. 

Ethan Burgh had two hits for Rotary while Landon Allenby and Lucas Allenby pitched well.

Youth softball

GGSL

Savannah Brown had five hits and three RBIs, Bristol Stevens had four hits and four RBIs and Tilly Dulles had four hits and two RBIs to lead Gilmore and Farrell to a 14-7 victory over Freedom Credit Union in a Lil Nippers contest on Wednesday. 

Miley Frey and Maisey Miller each had three hits and Elyse Reardon added two hits for Freedom. 

■ Also in Lil Nippers action on Wednesday, Mila Phelps had four hits while Sammy Suhl and Shaye Tyler had three hits to lead Franklin First to a 10-0 win over Elks Club. 

Lexi Hawkins and Aurora Reynolds each had three hits for Elks Club, with Amelie Gauthier adding a pair of hits. 

■ Autumn Thornton, Hannah Unaitis, Sandra Johnson and Taylor Underwood all had hits to lead Pipione’s Sport Shop to a 16-13 win over Pelletier Electric on Tuesday in a Ponytail contest. 

Emma Peterson, Jaelyn Boliski, Ava Worden, Layla Hammond and Hayden Brechenser each hit safely for Pelletier. 

Preps

Four Deerfield Academy teams picked up wins over Taft on Wednesday, with the boys lacrosse team winning 7-5, the baseball team winning 11-1, the girls tennis team winning 8-1 and the boys tennis team earning a 6-1 win. 

Name correction

Conor O’Connell was 3-for-3 to pace Ruggeri’s in a Tuesday night GMLB game against Pioneer Valley Tire.

His name was incorrectly listed when reported to the Recorder. We apologize for this error.
