LEYDEN — A shed on East Glen Road caught fire Monday evening, but there were no injuries and no major property damage.
The fire seemed to have been caused by embers from a wood stove that were blown to the wooden shed, according to Leyden Fire Officer-in-Charge Brian Pelletier. The dry weather likely made the area more flammable, he said.
The building was built on a wood frame, and a metal surface on the roof had to be removed to fully douse the fire. Pelletier said there were no injuries, and the damage to the shed was relatively minor.
The Fire Department was called at about 5:45 p.m. Monday evening. In all, the situation was resolved in about three hours, Pelletier said.
“It was a relatively quick stop,” he said.
The Bernardston Fire Department also responded.
