The Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) has launched a new vaccine clinic webpage, hoping that it will make it easier for people to register for a spot in one of the local clinics.
The links for upcoming clinics will go live at 3 p.m. on Monday. According to FRCOG, people need to act quickly to secure an appointment. Open time slots have been filling within 15 to 25 minutes of other links going live.
The website to sign up for a vaccine this week is franklincountymavaccine.org.
The state requires that 75 percent of allocated doses be administered in publicly posted clinics, which means clinics will be available on the state’s website, as well as the PrepMod website.
Twenty-five percent of the weekly allocation is for “private clinics,” with blocks of time scheduled at each clinic for seniors who need additional support. LifePath and local senior centers have private links and can help people to register.
Those who are homebound should contact LifePath at 413-829-9285 to schedule an appointment, while those who are able to travel should try to register at the University of Massachusetts Amherst website or the Eastfield Mall in Springfield website.
There will be two clinics this week, besides the one the city of Greenfield runs at the John Zon Community Center. Montague will hold one Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin County Technical School and Orange will hold one Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ralph C. Mahar Regional School.
