Hawley tax rate is $17.88 per $1,000 valuation

HAWLEY — The town tax rate was omitted from the real estate and personal property tax bills that were mailed in December, according to Tax Collector Elizabeth Nichols.

The correct tax rate for fiscal year 2021 is $17.88 per $1,000 valuation. Valuation and tax amounts that appear on the bills are correct.

Senior Center announces January programs

SHELBURNE FALLS — The Senior Center, serving residents on Shelburne, Buckland and Ashfield, has released its schedule of events for the month of January.

Tai chi classes, held via Zoom, are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m.

■Foot clinics are held on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (with the exception of Jan. 18, when the center is closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day).

■To-go meals are offered by LifePath on Wednesdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. There will also be a to-go lunch on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11:30 a.m. That meal consists of beef stew, rolls, fruit and dessert.

■Reflexology sessions will be held on Tuesdays, Jan. 12 and Jan. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

■The brown bag distribution is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The Senior Center is also offering shopping trips to Greenfield on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, to downtown Shelburne on Wednesday mornings, and to the Walmart in Hadley on Friday, Jan. 15.
