COLRAIN — A man was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center Thursday night with non-life-threatening injuries that resulted from an accident on Heath Road.
Colrain Fire, EMS and Massachusetts State Police responded at around 9:30 p.m. Fire Chief Nick Anzuoni said the man, who was the sole occupant, was traveling southeast when the GMC pick-up he was driving crashed into a tree and went into a brook in the area of 251 Heath Road. The airbags deployed.
“He self-extricated from the vehicle, hiked a mile up the road and called 911 from there, up in Heath,” he said.
The man was transported by ambulance to Baystate Franklin in Greenfield, Anzuoni said. He didn’t know on Friday whether the man was a resident of Colrain.
