Hawley

Residents who want to vote early by mail must complete and send back to Town Hall (8 Pudding Hollow Road) their ballot application, which has prepaid postage. Voters can opt to vote early by mail in both the Sept. 1 state primary election and Nov. 3 general election, but those who are unenrolled must specify which party ballot they want for the primary election.

According to a notice from Town Clerk Pamela Shrimpton, those who prefer to vote in-person can do so on Sept. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall. Residents must wear a mask and practice social distancing. One person will be able to vote at a time.

Alternatively, the notice states, residents can take advantage of one of three early voting sessions at Town Hall:

■Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon

■Sunday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon

■Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The same mask and social distancing precautions will be in place during early voting sessions, the notice states.

Mail-in ballots will start being sent to Hawley voters in the next couple of weeks. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Buckland

If you are not already registered to vote in Buckland and wish to vote in the Sept. 1 state primary, the deadline to register is Saturday, Aug. 22.

According to a notice from Town Clerk Elizabeth Cerone, voter registration will be offered at the Town Clerk’s Office on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.

In-person early voting for the September primary will be held in the Town Clerk’s Office on the following dates:

■Saturday, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.

■Sunday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to noon

■Monday, Aug. 24, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

■Tuesday, Aug. 25, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

■Thursday, Aug. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
