Okay, so here’s the deal: Wearing masks is an act of community responsibility … it keeps your droplets, infectious or not, from escaping to make bystanders, classmates, housemates from inhaling them.
If you claim you should not be told what to do, that you should have the freedom to choose not to wear a mask, how about signing a Mask-Denier Waiver that says you accept responsibility for your actions: you will not request public money to be spent on your care if you get sick with the COVID-19 virus. Nor will you go the hospital and risk the lives of people who might have to care for you. Nor will your health insurance plan pay for your care, thereby causing the premiums to go up for all the rest of us.
And of course, you will not be allowed a vaccine until all those you might have infected have had theirs. Maybe there could be a quarantine community where you and other mask deniers could celebrate your personal freedom and hope you recover.
