NORTHFIELD — The Trinitarian Congregational Church of Northfield’s annual Farm-to-Table Summer Luncheon goes drive-by this year due to the coronavirus guidelines. The same farm-fresh, local ingredients will be used in the menu. The date is Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at 147 Main St., Northfield, but reservations required by Friday, Aug. 14. To reserve, call Jeanne Closson at 413-498-2205. $12, adults; $6, kids under 12.
Chef Pat Shearer has chosen a menu sourced entirely from local farms: Baked chicken breast with local herbs, potato salad, deviled eggs, coleslaw, our famous Bishop’s bread, brownie, bottled water. All are prepared in the church kitchen according to state sanitary guidelines.
Instead of eating indoors, luncheon guests will drive around to the front of the church and down the little hill, where Shearer’s minions will take money and hand out lunch(es), neatly packed in take-out containers and bagged for convenience.
Shearer says, “We look forward to seeing old friends and new. Remember, reservations are required. Please make yours by Friday, Aug. 14, by calling Jeanne at 413-498-2205.”
